From the Desk of Coach Jemison…

Dear Spartan Family,

I am extremely excited to accept the position of Interrelated English Teacher /Head Cheerleading Coach at North Springs High School. I am thoroughly impressed by the Spartan’s tenacity and engagement on and off the field. The level of standards for academics, athletics, the arts, and my interactions with Mrs. Ritchie and Coach Glenn, during the hiring process only solidified my excitement and my willingness to grow within the Spartan family.

I have noticed that the Spartan family has, without a shadow of a doubt, set out to create a rewarding and academically challenging environment that fosters to every student that wants to excel and learn. With these abilities, I hope to cater to the needs of all students in gearing them into becoming their best in every area of their educational endeavors. I am a Highly Qualified/Certified English teacher and Interrelated educator. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English with a Criminal Justice Minor and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. I have done studies in Writing and will be conferred with an MFA from SCAD soon. I received my certification through Georgia Teaching Fellows program in 2014. I am Highly Qualified in English General ED (4-12), Special Education: English, Reading, and Social Studies (P-12); as well as, Special Education General Consultative (P-12). I will begin me specialist degree in leadership this fall.

Furthermore, I have served as a Cheerleading Coach for three years in Muscogee County School District and I look forward to my current position as Head Cheer Coach as a Spartan. I have also acted as the Behavioral Specialist for the PBIS team for a year. I am also trained in such educational systems as Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC), CISM, and Document-Based Questioning (DBQ). I taught for one year in South Korea teaching English as a second language in South Korea embarking on a cultural and international English experience.

As the school year quickly approaches, I hope to introduce myself to each one you all very soon; I will be returning to the states in early July and I hope to exemplify the awesomeness of this institution and to reflect the rigor and relevance needed to ensure that we have promising students. Together with North Spring’s exceptional staff and supportive administration, I have been assured that a strong foundation, in and outside of the classroom, is already top priority and an expectant goal of the school. I look forward to seeing the continuous growth and promise of the Spartan Athletics and students. I am enthusiastic about bringing my experiences and expertise in education to North Springs; as well as my athletic capabilities. I look forward to working with you all.
