North Springs High School
North Springs Spartans grabbed an early lead on its way to a 16-6 victory over Grady on Wednesday. North Springs scored on an error and a single by Nate Cohen in the first inning. Grady scored four runs in the fifth inning, but North Springs still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Grady came thanks to a single and a walk by Miciah Streator. North Springs scored four runs in the second inning. North Springs big inning was driven by a single by Justin Reid, a stolen base , and a single by Jack Gersten. Grady scored four runs in the fifth inning. Grady’s big inning was driven by a single and a walk by Streator. Evan Murphy earned the win for North Springs. He pitched four innings, allowing six runs, four hits, and striking out five. Caleb Maloof took the loss for Grady. He tossed one and one-third innings, allowing eight runs, three hits, and striking out one. North Springs collected 13 hits. Ty Milliner, Rees Viersen, and Nate Cohen each collected multiple hits for North Springs. Cohen went 2-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with four runs batted in. North Springs tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Alvin Jones led the way with five.
