Spartan Baseball Families,
Thank you to everyone who pitched in at field work day on Saturday. We still have a few things that need to be completed prior to our first game but we are definitely making good progress. Don’t forget the First Pitch Dinner is this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the NSHS cafeteria. The immediate family (parents/guardians and siblings) of each team member is invited to attend. There is a supplemental player cloth/spirit wear order attached to this email that you may bring to the First Pitch Dinner if you are interested in purchasing NSHS baseball gear for your player, yourself or another family member. The spirit wear will all be different than what the players receive from their player dues package. Please email me if you have any questions about the order form.
First Pitch Dinner –
This is a potluck dinner for all players, coaches, & families to get our season started. Homemade or store/restaurant bought items are fine! Please see your grade level assignment below for what items to bring.

Study table will begin Thursday February 1st from 3:45 – 5:45 p.m. and will be held each day for the rest of the season on days where both teams practice back to back. The late practice group will attend study table on each particular day it is being held. Study table is mandatory unless given prior approval by the coaching staff to miss.
This will be handed out at some point this week to each player. Once the players receive their practice gear they should wear it to every practice and take it home after the last practice of the week to wash it.
Players returning to the program and players who may have hand me down gear from an older brother are welcome to wear NS baseball hats, hoodies, long sleeves, etc. from previous years to practice, however the 3/4 sleeve shirt all players are receiving this year is our practice top for all practices.
Practice gear should consist of the following: gray baseball pants (plain or w/ navy, orange, royal, or black braid), navy or orange baseball belt, navy or orange socks (orange or navy stirrups with sanitary socks are perfectly fine too), navy or orange long sleeves (to be worn under the team issued practice shirt in 55 degree or colder weather), NS baseball hat. Players are NEVER allowed to wear their game jerseys or game pants for practice.
We will be kicking off our spirit card fundraiser on Saturday February 3rd. The fundraiser will end Saturday February 17th with all outstanding money and unsold cards due. Each player will be expected to sell a minimum of 15 cards. Any unsold cards not returned on the 17th will need to be paid for by the player. Please remember this is our only fundraiser of the spring. Please do what you can to contribute. Families wishing to opt out of this fundraiser are welcome to write a check for $225. The booster club will be providing a gift card to the top seller on both the varsity and JV teams, similar to what was done for the Big Green Egg raffle last fall.
Now that teams have been selected, please get your player dues in as soon as possible. Remember $100 must be paid to the school based baseball account, this can be done with a check made out to North Springs High School (which you can turn in at the first pitch dinner on Wednesday) or you can go to the NSHS website and pay through the OSP link. The remaining $850 of player dues goes to the SABC. You may write a check payable to SABC (also can be turned in on Wednesday at the first pitch dinner) or you can go to the SABC website and pay online. Please make sure you designate the funds to go into the baseball account.
And don’t forget sponsorships are due very soon too. You can get your player dues down to $0 for the year with a Grand Slam level sponsorship. And for every $500 of sponsorship funding you bring into the program, you will receive a $100 player dues credit. If you prefer to do a family sponsorship in place of finding a local business to sponsor the program. All families that purchase a family sponsorship will be recognized on our sponsor board, website, and with whatever banners are included in the level of sponsorship purchased.
