Game Recap

North Springs Spartans move to 2-0 on the season with a 21-6 victory over Towers Titans, this is the first 2-0 start since 1995. The offense was lead by Junior, Kyree Green with 101 yards rushing and Nick Keou with 2 receiving touchdowns on the night. Jalen Delaney threw a touchdown pass on a little trick-a-ration! Jalen Delaney and Jahvon Millard also had interceptions on defense. Jorge Gonzalez caused and recovered a fumble after a Titan intercepted a pass from Brian Adams. Overall, the special teams played a major role in the victory with Osman Rustayev with 3 extra points and 2 touch-backs on kickoffs. The defense played tough all night only giving up a long touchdown pass late in the game. The Spartans will have a buy next week as they prepare for a home game against the Decatur Bulldogs on the 15th!

Pace started out very strong in the 1st quarter with 5 goals as the Spartans struggled to figure out playing in the shallow end. After the 1st quarter, the Spartans made a comeback with 4 goals by Jake Rubin, 1 by Zach Scheiderman, and 1 by John Cleveland. The deficit was a little too much to overcome in the end.

Meet Recap

The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams traveled to Savannah, Georgia this weekend to compete in the Saucony XC Kickoff Classic. This meet would feature 33 high school teams from all over the state. Our Spartans would finish among the top. Sophia Charanis finished 6th overall and took home a top ten medal. She also would finish 1st among all class 5A girls. The boys team was led by Daniel Lopez who finished 38th, but was projected to finish 53rd based on last year’s times. The Spartans will compete will not compete again until September 16th when they travel to the Lion Invitational.

Game Recap

Friday’s opener for the Spartans would be an early kickoff at 5:30pm, but that did not seem to affect North Springs at all. The Spartans came out firing and defeated KIPP Collegiate 33-18. Senior QB Brian Adams would lead the way going 19-of-34 for 281 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Zahir Nichols would lead all receivers with 7 grabs for 101 yards and a touchdown. Kiree Green would carry 17 times for 92 yards and a score. Win Reynolds, Jalen Delaney and Nick Keou would also haul in TD passes. The Spartans will hit the road again this Friday to Dekalb County to take on Towers HS at 7:30pm at Adams Stadium.

After going down 4-0 to a strong Wesleyan team in the 1st quarter, the Spartans had a huge 2nd quarter, outscoring Wesleyan 7-1 and taking the lead for good. Goals were scored by Jake Rubin with 5, Turner Templeton with 3, Zachary Schneiderman with 2, and Harrison Ruddy and Patrick Casey with 1 each. Charley Plumly had a good game in goal with 8 blocked shots. Great job guys!

The Spartans played a tough Forsyth A team in the season opener. The score remained close through the first quarter (2-1 Forsyth A), but then Forsyth pulled away in the middle 2 quarters to go up by 9. Goals were scored by Jake Rubin (3), John Cleveland (1), Turner Templeton (1), and Patrick Casey (1). Charley Plumly blocked 9 shots in goal with 1 being a penalty shot as well. We hope to rebound against Wesleyan on Thursday.
