The Spartans had a strong night against the Red Devils of Druid Hills, improving their record to 4-2. This was technically an away game for North Springs, but was played at home due to wet field conditions for Druid Hills. The Spartans did a great job of spreading around the scoring last night with 10 different players getting in on the action. Junior Jake Rubin had the most points on the night with 2 goals and 4 assists, followed by Senior Win Reynolds with 3 goals and 2 assists. Senior Zack Bernstein and Sophomore Charlie Turner each contributed two goals a piece, while Junior Charley Plumly and Senior Will Vesey, each contributed a goal and an assist. Rounding out the scoring with one goal a piece were Senior Omar Kayalli, and with their first goals of the season, Sophomores George Christman and Aiden Peoples and Freshman Pete KIafter! While the offense was strong, the defense was as well. Senior Issac Spence started out the night in goal and Senior Stephen Hunt came in allowing only 3 goals and contributing 5 saves. Seniors Max Spencer, Konrad Muly, and Jacob Lewis, along with Juniors Tiwan Jones and Chandler Jackson shut down the Red Devils offense allowing only 13 total shots on the night, with only 8 on goal. Sophomore Dylan Mah also was part of that strong defensive stand until he went out in the third quarter with a season-ending broken wrist. We wish him a speedy recovery! With the exception of the injury, it was a great night for the Spartans with everyone on the team getting access to the field. The Spartans are back on the field tonight against Grady. Go Spartans!
