The Spartans boys varsity soccer powered past Mt. Paran Christian on Friday night , 1/31/20, in a season opening scrimmage game for both teams.
After a slow being North Spring got into gear and there was no looking back.
At 27:34 point of the 1st half Daniel Castro put in a goal off a corner kick to give the Spartans the lead.
Five minutes later Amari Robinson took a pass from Edwin Munive on a quick counter attack to make the score 2-0.
As the Spartans continued to attack, at 15:57 Eagles the pressure by the NS’s defense force Mt Paran to misplay the ball into their own net to make it 3-0 for the Spartans. Getting credit for the goal was Zach Lyons.
The scoring just continued to come as at 11:43 Armari Robinson fed Mike Lyons the ball for the 4 score of the half.
As it looked like there would be no more score for the half with just 9.1 second to play Andrew Wright scored to give North Springs a 5-0 lead at half.
The start of the 2nd half North Springs made a few changes in the line up to get a view of what they could do. At 32:56 the Eagles scored their only goal of the game on a corner kick to make it 5-1.
North Springs had another short scoring burst midway in the 2nd half as at 25:22 Zach Lyons scored his 2nd goal of the nigh for a 6-1 advantage. Followed 4 minutes later Simon Ben-Moshe, off a corner kick from Edwin Munive put the final score at 7-1.
North Springs out shot the Eagles 24-8, 8 corners to 5, and 8 fouls to 10.
It was a good game by all the Spartan players in the pre-season opening match.
North Springs plays Stone Mountain Pirates at Avondale Stadium in DeKalb County on Tuesday 2/4/20 at 7:30 pm in the opening game of the regular season.
