North Springs shut out the Pirates of Stone Mountain for the 2nd year in a row by a 4-0 score. The Spartans controlled the game from the start. With just under 4 minute into the game Vicente Marron took a ball played into the far post from Zach Lyons and hit a powerful header pass the keeper for the 1st goal of the night.
North Springs continue to control play but missed shot after shot. It wasn’t until near the halfway point of the half, 23:06, that Simon Ben-Moshe in attempting a shot, was off target but the ball found Edgar Ulloa at the perfect spot on the back side of the goal, who placed the ball into goal on what is considered a trash goal.
As the Spartan defense of Nick Missert, Andrew Wright, Daniel Castro, and Omar Lopez held the Pirates at bay, Andrew Wright played a ball up to midfield where Simon Ben-Moshe fielded it and dribbled down field on a break away and put the shot away to give the Spartans a 3-0 lead going into halftime.
The second half was a defensive struggle between the two teams. Stone Mountain trying to use its speed up front to get opportunities to score, were consistently turned away by the play of the North Springs defense.
Once again the duo of Simon Ben-Moshe and Edgar Ulloa struck again. Simon again sending a shot across the goal found Edgar Ulloa in the perfect spot again where he just had to strike the ball into the net for his second trash goal of the night for the last score of the evening.
